In the 35900 configuration, the Timed Events table is populated with default values. In the method, with the injection source set to 35900 Pre-Run Events, the Setup ADC Timed Events window opened but would not permit setup of the events. All buttons and drop down menus were gray and inaccessible.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
The ADC might become NOT READY when the software is busy for a long time (e.g sequence reprocessing with IR to screen). When the system is no longer busy it cannot communicate with the ADC.Temporary Solution:
Software and instrument need to be restarted.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.03.
Logbook lists a disconnection from a 7890A as module 'Unknown Ev'Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
It is not possible to change integration parameters in the offline for a single run and save the new parameters in the method file.Temporary Solution:
Data analysis parameters can be updated and saved if using a sequence. It is recommended to prepare a single run sequence.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
1. Create seq table, with one run (Method A) for the front table, one run (Method B) for the back table this must be done first 2. Before line one of the sequence completes, add a run2 to the back table only (BACK.M) by append 3. When the back run is in process, add a sequence line to the front table, use a different method (method A) 4. Message stating that Injector doesn’t match the sequence’s DUAL Injector occurs event though all methods are saved with Dual injection selected as the injection sourceTemporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in Revision C.01.04.
Run a sequence and change the method during the acquisition (e.g. change the runtime). There is no possibility to save the method. The method should get saved at the end of the run automatically, but it does not. This issue occurs in C.01.01 - C.01.03 versions.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Resolved in Revision C.01.04.
A red X mark displays in data explorer of offline data analysis during sequence.Temporary Solution:
During data acquisition, don't display the subdirectory in the offline data explorer window.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
A pdf report file file cannot be updated when it is open in Acrobat reader or any other PDF viewer. It can also not be uploaded to ECM while it is open.Temporary Solution:
Close PDF viewers before reporocessing or printing reports.Fix Information:
C.01.03 comes with a report file viewer that works on a copy of the report file.
The manual needs updated to include more information on the peak width calculation. Is the peak width calculation meant to approach, approximate, or enhance the standard half-height method of calculation.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
n/a
If a ChemStation master method, sequence template, or data set is downloaded from ECM and afterwards the copy in ECM is moved to a different LCDF path, the local copy in the ChemStation will not be linked to the item in ECM anymore. This will lead to errors during automatic data upload, local method/sequence update from ECM, viewing the ECM Properties, etc.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
The chromatogram data not included in the ACAML file when a sequence is acquired in "Acquisition only" mode.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
Migrated ChemStore data acquired with ChemStation rev. A..01.03 and earlier does not get automatically reprocessed when downloading the files from ECM. The automatic reprocessing is requried to populate the ChemStation navigation table. The reprocessing stops with error message: Sequence was aborted due to a file access error. Please restart your sequence. Restarting the sequence reprocessing does not resolve the error.Temporary Solution:
Affected sequences cannot be reporcessed automatically, but the runs are available as single runs. Re-calibration using the calibration samples is possible interactively. Result review can be automated by using the auto-stepping feature of recalculation mode.Fix Information:
This defect will be fixed in ChemStation rev. B.04.03 Service Pack 1 as well as rev. C.01.04.
A result set that is built from individual runs does not provide the full functionality for GC runs. The resulting sequence does not support front or back injections. Reprocessing is not possible, because there is a mismatch with the method.Temporary Solution:
N/AFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04.
When a GC method is run that uses a vial number not valid for the configuration, an error message "Undefined symbol: License$" appears.Temporary Solution:
The error message is misleading. Check the vial range whether it makes sense for the selected injection source.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04.
Sporadically the launch of an online session will not proceed in a networked setup.Temporary Solution:
Launch the online session a second time. The second attempt usually works.Fix Information:
No fix planned
The localized readme.txt of the CDS ed. are present on the root of the CD/DVD holding the software (OpenLAB CDS ChemStation ) . Nevertheless for the localized readme.txt no automatic installation of the file to the harddisk will take place, the link in the programs folder links to the english readme.txt.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
When creating area sum integration event, the 'off' time for one group and the 'on' time for the next group must be separated by a minimum of 0.06 minutes. In a complex chromatogram this is a significant loss of data.Temporary Solution:

This problem is reproducible if you load DEF_GC.M. Once loaded, execute 'Edit Entire Method' and check 'Data Anylsis'. Close all dialogs with OK without doing changes. Then method becomes dirty [Error!]. Once the modifed DEF_GC.M is saved, the problem does not occur. Also happens in DA View. If DEF-GC.M is loaded and "Specify report" dialog is entered and closed without a change, then the Method dirty flag is set.Temporary Solution:

ChemStation does not report resolution as defined in European Pharmacopoeia. EP requires the following formula to be used: R = 1.18 * (Tr(b)-Tr(a)) / W50(b)+W50(a) Only the following definitions are available in ChemStation for resolution: USP, ASTM (in Extended Performance Report): R = 2 * (Tr(b)-Tr(a)) / WB(b)+WB(a) Half-width method as used in Performance Report: R = (2.35/2) * (Tr(b)-Tr(a)) / W50(b)+W50(a) JP (in Report Layout view only): R = 1.18 * (Tr(b)-Tr(a)) / W50(b)+W50(a)Temporary Solution:
In Report Layout view, use Resolution (JP) which uses the same formula.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
The acquisition parameters missing in the Method section of the sequence summary report when Unique Folder Creation is switched off. Only the run-time checklist, method information and data analysis parameters are reported.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
The sample name is not reported when using Intelligent Reporting when working on data that have been required in revisions prior to OpenLAB CDS ChemStation Edition C.01.01.Temporary Solution:
Use the "result set migration" tool of the Chemstation, to migrate the sequence to container format.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
The file path in ChemStation has a hard coded limit of 256 characters. In an ECM environment there are also hidden characters added to ensure unique file naming. As a consequence the complete lenth forTemporary Solution:+ + + must not exceed a length of 175 characters.
Make sure that the path length of a report from --> C:\Chem32\... to ...pdf <-- does not exceed 175 characters.Fix Information:
No fix available.
The time stamps for sequence completion may differ between the sequence logbook and the instrument logbook: The sequence logbook lists the time after completion of the acquisition, while the instrument logbook displays the time after completion of the sequence summary report.Temporary Solution:
n/aFix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
Save method on D drive, and start sequence with headspace or PAL Sampler.
GC stays in "Prep Run".
headspace and PAL Samplers do not work.
Headspace or PAL Sampler does not start when method is saved to a location other than C:\
This defect affects all of the B series headspace and PAL Sampler drivers.
Temporary Solution:
Workaround is to save and use methods from the C:\ drive.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
It is not possible to run partial sequence acquisition using the back sequence table with Headspace.

Investigation:
The exception is the reason why the sequence is not downloaded to the instrument. It is related to back sequences. Due to a minor mistake, the attempt to resolve a partial Back-sequence line fails, because the ChemStation tries to resolve it from the Front-Sequence Table.
Temporary Solution:
Workaround is to use Front-Sequences only.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
If the sequence table is opened during a running sequence and the user clicks on a cell and makes no changes, there is a lock placed on the vial so that the instrument doesn't put a vial in the oven. If the user makes no changes and hits OK then the Chemstation never continues past the locked vial.Temporary Solution:
If the user makes a change to the sequence or hits the cancel button then the sequence works correctly.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04
A partial sequence run with methods saved to a location other than C:\ does not run. The logbook says it is running but the headspace or PAL Samplers do not run.Temporary Solution:

Set authentication to Internal and create an 'everything' user Log into Control Panel and open a 6890 session, which fails to initialize This eventually times out and the lock dialog appears. The logged-on user is not displayed in lock dialog. Do not know who is logged into Control Panel.Temporary Solution:
The root cause is that the full name is not set.Fix Information:
Fixed in revision C.01.04.
